*Official Winner of the ENCORE Producers’ Award, GETTING THERE has extended its run until July 23.*

On September 1, 2022, a dear friend received a devastating cancer diagnosis and tragically passed away just 11 days later. Another friend, in his 30s, silently battled cancer without revealing his struggle until a year later when he shared his remission news with me. In December, I myself went through a health scare that lasted two weeks, during which the possibility of cancer hung over me. Thankfully, it turned out to be a false alarm, and I am now in good health. However, those two weeks made me wonder if anyone could truly understand the impact of receiving a cancer diagnosis—how your entire world can change in an instant.

Rebecca O’Brien, in her poignant one-person show, GETTING THERE captures the essence of this experience. In just 58 minutes, she takes us on an unimaginable journey through the realm of cancer, illustrating how the universe can simultaneously transform and remain unchanged. Countless reviews have praised this show, and I can only echo their well-deserved accolades. But the highest praise I can offer is this: “Getting There!” was real. Her performance shared echos of hardship, moments of profound joy and so much more.

YOU NEED TO GO SEE THIS—it is a testament to the beauty of humanity in our strange and quirky world and the power of compassion.

Rebecca O’Brien’s show has been extended, giving you the fortunate opportunity to see it for yourself. Don’t miss this chance to be reminded of the incredible strength and resilience of the human spirit, and the profound impact that empathy and understanding can have on our lives.
