Celebrating 46 years, the Year of the Dragon 46^th Annual L.A. Chinatown Firecracker is one of the largest and oldest running races in the United States with its upcoming Lunar New Year run, walk, cycling, and dog walk events held over the weekend of February 24-25, 2024, at the historic Los Angeles Chinatown Plaza located at 943 N Broadway, Downtown Los Angeles.

Registration is now open for the L.A. Chinatown Firecracker with a choice to participate in-person or virtually. Events include a 5K/10K/Kiddie/PAW’er Dog Run/Walk & 19/50-Mile Bike Ride.

REGISTRATION: $38 – $75 with discounts for participating in multiple events\

• Sat, Feb 24: 50-mile Bike Ride; 8:00 a.m. (new route goes through Pasadena & Altadena)

• Sat, Feb 24: 19-mile Bike Ride; 8:20 a.m.

• Sat, Feb 24: 2K PAW’er Dog Walk; 9:00 a.m.

• Sun, Feb 25: 5K Run/Walk; 8:00 a.m. Run / 8:20 a.m. Walk

• Sun, Feb 25: 10K Run/Walk; 8:20 a.m. Run / 8:40 a.m. Walk

• Sun, Feb 25: 1K Kiddie Run: 9:00 a.m.

Each registered participant receives a commemorative 2024 Firecracker race bib, an exclusive collectible finisher’s medal, a limited edition t-shirt (Paw’er Dogs receive their own commemorative Chinatown Firecracker t-shirt), a goody bag, and much more.

All registered participants 21+ years of age are also eligible for one complimentary beer at the Beer Garden.

In addition, participants and their guests will enjoy the Year of the Dragon Lunar New Year Celebration in the heart of historic Chinatown with an opening ceremony filled with lion dancers and the traditional lighting of 100,000 firecrackers.

The L.A. Chinatown Firecracker Festival includes vendors and booths. The 46th Annual Firecracker has been approved as a 2024 USATF (U.S.A. Track & Field) Sanctioned Event.

The annual L.A. Chinatown Firecracker is produced by the nonprofit L.A. Chinatown Firecracker Run Committee (LACFRC), a group of volunteers who donate their time and energy to organize and stage events and programs promoting healthy lifestyles, fitness, and cultural awareness to the greater Los Angeles community. All proceeds are reinvested in the community and surrounding areas in support of elementary schools and other non-profit organizations, providing services and programs.
