It wasn’t too long ago that alternative pop hip-hop artist Jensen Reed released his latest song This Time featuring soul songstress Lisa Donnelly. A departure from the kind of music we normally gravitate to and definitely not totally language clean, we thought it was interesting enough to feature here at Gia On The Move. Here’s why:

Reminiscent of Macklemore and Gym Class Heroes, Reed is an LA-based artist who is known for his style of fusing upbeat pop structure and dark hip-hop overtones to create unique compositions. His music has been featured on celebrated shows such as Friday Night Lights and Showtime’s House of Lies, as well as the Oscar-nominated film The Messenger. His most recent album, The Left Coast, was released in April 2014 and featured Michael Vinzce and The Mowgli’s. He also collaborated with prolific YouTuber Taryn Southern on a cover of Tove Lo’s Habits (Stay High).
