Kerry Kazmierowicztrimm’s Wounded is hard to watch. And that’s some of the highest praise I can give theater.

Hollywood Fringe Festival, Gia On The MoveThe new play, grown at local theatre collective Fierce Backbone, tells the story of a woman (Jessie Holder Tourtellotte) who, after years caring for her husband (Scott Kuza) after he came back from war mentally and physically crippled, has found the courage to open up and start a new relationship (Kyle Felts). But beginning again isn’t easy.

The less you know ahead of time about the plot and characters of Wounded, the better your experience will be – the story is a roller coaster and the title, as great titles are, is far deeper than it’s surface meaning. But you should go in with the knowledge that you will be watching an across-the-board stellar cast expertly directed with a script that will leave you shaken. It may be completely sold out at this point, but try to get in. You’ll remember the experience for a long time.
