POW! WOW! Long Beach returns to Long Beach, California, from Monday, July 11, 10:00 AM, to Sunday, July 17, 6:00 PM.
A week-long celebration of culture, music and art, set to change the face of the city, POW! WOW! Long Beach, inspired by Honolulu’s POW! WOW! Hawaii, follows on last year’s successful inaugural event. The festival centers around internationally renowned artists who will complete a series of urban street art mural installations throughout the city. It is the only event of its kind in the continental United States.
“In Long Beach, we’re proud to be a city that celebrates and supports the arts. “POW! WOW! Long Beach, returning for its second year, both celebrates and enhances our city’s authentic character. We can’t wait to see the colorful installations we’ll get to enjoy all year, and we’re excited to welcome so many renowned artists to our neighborhoods.” ~Long Beach mayor Robert Garcia
Participating artists include Sean “Hula” Yoro, Felipe Pantone, Cinta Vidal Agulló, Telmo Pieper and Miel Krutzmann, Andrew Hem and Brendan Monroe
Installation locations include leading attractions and landmarks such as the Aquarium of the Pacific, the Long Beach Convention Center, Edison Apartments, and Westin Hotel in Long Beach, California
