Love is strong as death ~Song of Solomon 8:6
But is it really, real?
Immediate and immersive, professional AMA/Magic Castle magician, Micah Cover illuminates (literally) a tale about a Los Angeles magician on the brink of fame and an American scientist who could be the key to a turnaround for Allied Forces, in 1945, during the height of World War II, who meet, fall in love, marry and then both mysteriously disappear. Driving questions surrounding their respective deaths, are answered through séance theater, mentalism, parlor tricks and the wackiest story ever told spanning the Hollywood Pantages to the Bermuda Triangle.
Cover has been devoted to his ghosts’ (and they to him) tragic and beautiful, true love story, Haunted House Calls, for approximately 10 years, breathing life once more into the unlikely lovers, which even as far down the road of multiple performances as this show has headlined, mesmerizes in its simple format. (And that’s all we have to say about that! We’re not giving it away!)
This latest iteration, which, in the 30 seat house at The Actors Group Rep Theatre, has the bona fide resonance of a true Magic Castle theatrical spectacular, and is fascinatingly aided by the graphic design of Mike Rose, eery sound, projections, lighting design and the efforts of Force of Nature Productions founder, Sebastian Muñoz.
