We thought Culottes died a timely and permanent death back in the early 80’s. Unfortunately, this particularly frumpy and unattractive, one-step-up-from pajamas, drapery is back with a vengeance.

Touted as the new comfort costume, according to WSGN Insider, the trend is currently being featured as a ready-to-wear, runway copy of Pre-Summer 16 collections, previously showcased by designers like Stella McCartney (key work: copy).

Paired with the recently popular block heel, ‘Team Crusty’s’ shock and awe effect provides as much flattering aesthetic for a woman’s figure than some other historically worst-fashions-ever like harem pants, scrunchies and puffball skirts. In our modern, ‘must be different’ at any cost little fashion minds, Culottes are sure to be a frightening (wishfully thinking, short-lived) run-away hit.
