How do you determine a winner?
Now that it’s officially “award season”, in anticipation of the 58th Annual GRAMMY® Awards, Pandora, for one, has made predictions across 10 of the nomination categories. How they’ve chosen is by analyzing the way their listeners interact with music. The winners were determined by pulling the overall number of spins for the track in the last year, and comparing that to the number of thumbs up.
If Pandora listeners had their say, here’s the list of predicted winners:
Record of the Year: The Weeknd – “Can’t Feel My Face”
Song of the Year: Wiz Khalifa – “See You Again”
Album of the Year: Chris Stapleton – “Traveller”
Best New Artist: Meghan Trainor
Best Pop Solo Performance: The Weeknd – “Can’t Feel My Face”
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance: Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar – “Bad Blood”
Best Rap Song: Fetty Wap – “Trap Queen”
Best Rap/Sung Collaboration: Nicki Minaj Featuring Drake, Lil Wayne & Chris Brown – “Only”
Best Country Song: Chris Stapleton – “Traveller”
Best Rock Song: Highly Suspect – “Lydia”
