L.A. hometown hero and soulful crooner Rory Partin is back with his new album coming out Tuesday, August 19th featuring the late great Opry/Cajun music legend Jimmy C Newman and an all-star band with some of the last surviving members of legendary big bands like Tommy Dorsey, Bobby Darin, and Harry James.

We are big fans here of Rory (he’s so cool) and as a preview to the release we decided to feature his video:  “Everybody’s Got Somebody But Me”

The self-titled album Rory Partin takes listeners on a heartfelt journey through American music history – from swing-era standards including Don’t Get Around Much Anymore to contemporary classics like Everybody’s Got Somebody But Me – displaying Rory’s ability to build on a foundation of legends ‘all while adding his own unique twist to his music’. (Confront Magazine).

.At a time when many classic tunes from the Great American Songbook are facing extinction, powerhouse of blue-eyed soul Rory Partin and His All Star 18-piece Big Band are not only keeping musical history alive on their forthcoming fan-funded LP (out 8/19/14), they’re infusing it with fresh new energy courtesy of Partin’s ‘sharp sense of humor and a dash of gospel grit’ (Popdose).

Poised to take his place among artists like Michael Bublé and Harry Connick, Jr., “Partin separates himself from his colleagues, offering a contrasting timbre and amplifying the soul…his beautiful upper register coupled with the hard-swinging big band arrangement gives you chills listening” (Brent Music Reviews).

A multi-instrumentalist who has lived in and taken influences from several of America’s great musical centers (including New Orleans, Nasvhille, and Los Angeles), Partin has toured internationally with five-time Grammy winner Larnelle Harris and performed with his own All Star Big Band at George W. Bush’s Inaugural Ball and The National Symphony Ball at the Kennedy Center.
