Lily Tomlin, one of America’s foremost comediennes will appear at the Valley Performing Arts Center (VPAC) at California State University, Northridge this May.

Tomlin will bring Edith Ann, Ernestine and other members of her incomparable greatest hits personas to the Valley Performing Arts Center on the campus of California State University, Northridge on May 9, at 8:00 p.m. in the VPAC Great Hall.

Critics have been raving about Lily Tomlin’s warm and uniquely affecting performance for nearly half of a century.  The N.Y. Times says, “Tomlin is amazing,” and the New Yorker adds, “Always a revelation.”  Tomlin will take her VPAC audience on what the Washington Post calls a “wise and howlingly funny trip” with more than a dozen of her timeless characters – from Ernestine to Mrs. Beasley to Edith Ann.

Tomlin’s multifaceted career includes television, theater, motion pictures, animation and video.  She has received six Emmys, two Tonys, a Drama Desk Award, an Outer Critics’ Circle Award, a Cable Ace Award, a Grammy and two Peabodys.  In 2003 she was the recipient of the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor presented at the Kennedy Center.
