Why do we NEED glamour? Can you define that question for yourself? Anyone else? Close to the answer? Struggling here?
Hold that thought.
In her new book, author, columnist, and speaker, Virginia Postrel lets us in on the simple but definitive secret…Yes! We NEED it!
At last night’s private preview party hosted in one of the more glamorous modern architecturally designed homes in Beverly Hills, Virginia Postrel celebrated her new book, The Power of Glamour. I asked her what prompted the writing of this volume, available on Amazon.com print or Kindle.
“Glamour is a form of non-verbal persuasion”, handing me a signed copy she explained, “I’ve been writing this book for a long time. [It is about how glamour persuades us and defines us and influences us] in ways we don’t even realize.”
Luckily, there is a public event to accompany this the launch of the book. There will be a lecture, Why Do We Need Glamour at The Getty Center, The Harold M. Williams Auditorium on Wednesday, November 20th at 7:00pm. The event is Free. Reservations required.
Call (310) 440-7300 for information.
In the meantime, Virginia, in her own words…

Our friend Tracey Paleo was lucky enough to attend this event last night. I’m gonna have to convince her to let me borrow the book!
