Track stars will “hand-off” to music stars at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field when Platinum-selling recording group Eve 6 perform at TrackTown Plaza on Friday, June 29 in Eugene, OR.
The special entertainment event organized by USA Track & Field will bring Eve 6 to the stage as they tour in support of their new album, Speak in Code. The group’s set will begin following the conclusion of track competition, shortly past 5 p.m. PST. Admission is free and open to the public.
“Most premier sports properties now have a musical and entertainment element that brings popular culture into the sports culture,” USATF CEO Max Siegel said. “TrackTown has been a tremendous host for the sport. We wanted to thank the city, all track and field fans and everyone who has worked to make the Trials a success by providing world-class musical entertainment to celebrate 10 days of great competition.”
Formed in 1995, Southern California-based trio Eve 6 took over alternative rock airwaves in 1998 with their platinum selling, debut self-titled album, which featured the massive hits Inside Out, Leech and Tongue Tied. The band found great success again with their follow-up gold selling album Horrorscope that included the mainstream hit Here’s to the Night.
In 2003, the band released It’s All In Your Head, which featured yet another hit, Think Twice, before going on hiatus a year later. The band reformed in 2007 and spent the next several years touring, writing and recording. In 2012, EVE 6 are at it again, taking over rock radio with their latest single Victoria off their new album, Speak in Code.
