Live My Life Winner LAI Film Fest 2010

Lara Garcia_Accolade Competition Winner is awarded to the TARP Music Video, LIVE MY LIFE by creative collaborators and producers Tracey Paleo & Michael Cornell

With a recent endorsement from author, journalist, speaker, and former Goldman Sachs managing director, Nomi Prins (It Takes A Pillage, Wiley Publishing 2009), the Live My Life Music Video, directed by choreographer/director Michael Cornell of Los Angeles, CA (Semplice Pictures) and produced/executive produced by Departed actress Tracey Paleo (Brink Tank Productions), has won an Honorable Mention Award at the inaugural 2010 Los Angeles International Film Festival, competing with over 700 films from around the world.

For these first-time filmmakers, new to the independent film festival circuit, the 2010 LAI Film Fest award is prestigious. It is the second of two accolades this summer.  Earlier this year, Live My Life was also selected as one of only five Finalists at the June 2010 SoCal Film Market, winning recognition in the music video category.

Live My Life provides a much-needed shot of timely, thought-provoking, musically forward, irreverence to the status quo,” quotes Ms. Prins, a supporter, and fan since meeting Ms. Paleo and Mr. Cornell in December 2009.

Live My Life is a rebel rock and roll musical parody. It offers a sharp, irreverent portrait of American Capitalism, Idealism, and the Wall Street Bailout of 2008/09. The music video focuses on the US Treasury Secretary and former Goldman Sachs CEO, Henry Paulsen as the inspiration for the main character.

The LAI Film Fest garnered overwhelming international attention, postponing the selection date twice, and a day behind schedule, making the Live My Life award a stunning surprise to the filmmakers.

The Los Angeles International Film Festival is a new-wave film festival, founded by and for independent filmmakers. The festival is supported by established industry professionals, independent filmmakers, and individual financiers, who seek to recognize the craft of filmmaking and storytelling.  With nine categories and over ten awards in each, the goal of LAI Film Fest is to showcase and honor innovative new voices in the American and international film communities. LAI Film Fest seeks to recognize a large and diverse selection of films from all genres.
