‘Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me’ Returns to Arena Cinema Hollywood

Arena Cinelounge logoFor a limited engagement and starting on July 26, in memory of an incredible talent, Arena Cinema Hollywood will screen the documentary Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me for four showings only, (Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27  at 3:00 p.m.; Tuesday, July 29 and Thursday, July 31,  at 6:15 p.m., 2014),  at Arena Cinema Hollywood, 1625 N. Las Palmas Ave., Hollywood, CA 90028. (Entrance at rear gate.)

Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me captures the Broadway legend Elaine Stritch in her late 80’s, as she remains as ferociously funny as ever. In this bold, hilarious and poignant portrait, the uncompromising Tony and Emmy Award-winner is revealed both on and off stage.

Candid reflections about her life are punctuated with words from friends (including James Gandolfini, Tina Fey, John Turturro, Tracy Morgan, Hal Prince, George C. Wolfe, Nathan Lane and Cherry Jones) and archival footage that showcases some of the great moments from her career.

Whether dominating the stage, tormenting Alec Baldwin on the set of 30 Rock, or sharing her struggles with aging, diabetes and alcoholism, Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me reaches beyond the icon’s brassy exterior and reveals an inspiring portrait of a complex woman and artist.

Tracey Paleo is the publisher and personality of Gia On The Move. She is a Board Member/Awards Chair of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle (LADCC). A Theater Critic, she also occasionally contributes to Broadway World Los Angeles. As a lifelong supporter of and performer within the arts, Tracey began her professional career as an actress and dancer appearing on television, radio, stage and in movie at the age of eight. Her writing career began at age twelve when she was asked to review the entire collection of the Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries as a young reviewer for the Boston Phoenix. As a performer she is most recognized for her lead role in Martin Scorsese’s, “The Departed”, as Darlene and her appearances on Law & Order Criminal Intent. She also appeared as a lead dancer in the 80s hit dance show, “Dance Jam 88”. Tracey has written for a variety of media outlets and blogs including Discover Hollywood, The Tolucan Times, and Food Truck News. She is the former Editor of FootLights Publishing.
