Meal Sharing: Never Eat Alone Again on Thanksgiving

For people who can’t be with their families for the holiday, or travelers in the US or Americans abroad, there is a little taste of home waiting for you no matter where you are.

MealSharing.com, a website that connects travelers and locals over home cooked meals, developed a Thanksgiving initiative called “ThanksSharing,” and has stepped up to make sure no one is left alone on Thanksgiving, allowing users to join their meals free of charge.

“ We have hosts across the U.S. and around the world, including cities such as Berlin, Sao Paulo, Madrid and many more,”  says Jay Savsani, founder of MealSharing.com.

To find a meal, guests can log on the website, review a host’s meal profile and request a meal. If the host accepts, the two parties may then message back and forth (to discuss allergies, dietary restrictions, etc) until the meal is set. Hosts can accommodate one or many guests per meal. Afterwards, users and hosts review their experience.

MealSharing.com plans to make ThanksSharing an annual tradition with hopes that no one will eat alone on the popular American holiday.

Tracey Paleo is the publisher and personality of Gia On The Move. She is a Board Member/Awards Chair of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle (LADCC).
